Between managing your work situation, teaching your kids geometry and checking in with your loved ones, it can be difficult to find time to relax. But it’s more important than ever, for your emotional well-being and your physical health, too. Relaxation helps to reduce stress, and has other related health benefits, including lowering your blood pressure and reducing muscle tension. So, take a deep breath. And then another.
We’re going to get through this. Here are a few simple methods that the Rae team is using to pause and unwind.
Stretch it out
Stretching can sometimes feel like extra work, but once we do it, our bodies thank us. Before entering full relaxation mode, try stretching without even leaving your seat.
Find your jam
Maybe it’s silence, or the sounds of nature outside your window—whatever it is, lean into the sounds that help you feel zen. Studies have shown that listening to music can be a means of reducing stress, so peruse through Spotify’s arsenal of playlists and find one for your listening pleasure, like Calm Vibes or Low-Key.
It may seem obvious, but breathing as a technique for relaxation is often overlooked. Try following along with a “breathe in, breathe out” exercise to help clear your mind, or follow these simple steps to calming breath: inhale through the nose for a count of four, and exhale through the mouth for a count of six.
Rest and refuel
Give yourself the time you need to recharge appropriately so you can take on the day without feeling drained. Soaking in a bubble bath before bed might do the trick, or allowing yourself to reduce screen time in the evening. If you’re in search of some more zzzz’s, our Sleep blend uses pure and powerful ingredients and botanicals to calm body and mind to help you get a restful night of sleep.
