Research shows that art can help to relieve stress and relax your mind. To help spread positivity and inspiration, we collaborated with artists to create artwork reflecting what our motto—Shine from the inside out—means to them.
This week, we connect with artist Kit Agar.
Tell us a little bit about you.
I am an artist and illustrator living in Brighton, United Kingdom, with my cat, Ziggy. I graduated from University of the Arts London in 2017 with a BA degree in Illustration. I have since worked with leading brands such as Anthropologie & Madewell, as well as a variety of independent & upcoming brands such as Vinyl Me Please, Nyssa Care, The Sora Life, Spacey Studios, Paper Culture, and more. My work is inspired by the ethereal and the feminine everywhere in the world.
What does ‘Shine from the inside out’ mean to you?
To me, “Shine from the inside out” is about embracing yourself and, as this piece of art shows, finding your place in the universe with positivity.
What does wellness mean to you?
To me, wellness is about having good food and good company. It is also about nurturing yourself and your relationships with communication and interaction with others.
What are your favorite Rae products?
I’m excited to try the Sleep supplement, I’ve always struggled keeping a healthy sleep habit!
What was your process in creating this piece of artwork?
I began creating this piece of art by sitting down by a window, and with a clear and fresh mind, I started doodling and making sketches, until the drawings started to make sense. Whenever I start a new project, I try not to overthink what I’m doing, and just let it come organically.
We’d love to hear what Shine from the Inside Out means to you—let us know in the comments!
